Jacqueline Susan Cooper Family Therapy
....take a leap of faith

1.
Individual Therapy
I provide a safe and supportive space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Therapy sessions are tailored to each individual's unique needs, helping them work towards personal growth and healing.
2.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy offers a collaborative approach to address relationship challenges and improve communication. I work with couples to navigate conflicts, strengthen their connection, and rebuild trust.
3.
Art Therapy
Art therapy provides an environment in which to more fully explore your subconscious by the images it reveals to you. Art therapy can also provide children with an arena in which to play and explore emotions and feelings that are difficult to name.
4.
Family Therapy
Family therapy focuses on enhancing family dynamics and resolving conflicts. I assist families in improving communication, understanding each other's perspectives, and fostering healthier relationships.
My Approach
As a licensed family therapist, I am dedicated to empowering individuals and families to overcome challenges and lead fulfilling lives. My first Master's was in Fine Art and I approach therapy as a creative collaboration, with both of us crafting treatment that works specifically for you. I'm credentialed in Substance Use Disorder treatment and understand that MAT and harm reduction can be valuable stepping stones towards abstinence I am committed to providing personalized and effective therapy that respects the unique experiences and strengths of each client.
My ideal client takes many different forms and they are all individualized. My client is suffering and I see it as my role to reduce anxiety, depression and addiction so that it is no longer unbearable. I provide both short term (goal oriented), and long term (perhaps, more Existential and Gestalt based) therapy. Life is about transitions; each ending of a transition marks the beginning of a new challenge and I will walk alongside you as we navigate change. My goal is to help you adjust and to provide strategies for eliminating harmful behaviors. This journey will promote peace within yourself and with the others in your life.
Addiction Counseling and Sobriety Coaching

Sobriety coaching, also called recovery coaching, is a non-clinical practice where a trained professional provides ongoing support and guidance to individuals seeking to maintain sobriety from substance abuse, helping them develop coping mechanisms, set goals, and navigate challenges in their recovery journey by acting as a mentor and accountability partner, without providing direct therapy or diagnosis of mental health issues.
With over twenty years of direct experience in recovery from narcotics and four years in recovery from alcohol, I am an informed and compassionate coach. I understand the unique challenges of moving through the Stages of Change, from PreContemplation, into Action and then Maintenance and can support with interventions and coping skills.
Therapy is "Reflective" and Coaching is "Directive"
As I lead you through your sobriety journey I can assist with placement in SLE's (Sober Living Environments) if indicated and will help you find outside recovery support groups such as AA, NA, Recovery Dharma, and SMART Recovery that will best meet your specific requirements.
Key points about sobriety coaching:
Focus on action:
Unlike therapy, which often delves into past trauma, sobriety coaches focus on practical strategies and actionable steps to maintain sobriety in the present.
Accountability:
A key role of a sobriety coach is to hold clients accountable for their recovery goals and provide regular check-ins to monitor progress. Personalized approach:Coaches tailor their strategies to each individual's specific needs, triggers, and life circumstances.
Life skills development:
Beyond just abstinence, coaches may help clients develop healthy coping mechanisms, stress management techniques, and build positive support systems.
Getting Help
Seeking help is the first step towards positive change. I offer resources and support for individuals, couples, and families dealing with various challenges. Together, we can explore effective strategies to promote emotional well-being and resilience.
I accept sliding scale private pay clients. I believe that therapy should be affordable and available for all who are suffering. Please contact me directly for information. I am able to provide a SuperBill for Insurance purposes.
